Corporate Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

You will optimize extensive knowledge of and experience with EHS legislation, industry standards, and health and safety (H&S) programs to develop and implement programs for our locations. You will conduct compliance and program based H&S audits, identify, plan, develop, and deliver required H&S safety training programs, and act as a resource to facility staff. You will also monitor and review workplace claims, maintain record keeping as well as implement a behaviour based safety process and ergonomic assessments and improvements.

You have completed post-secondary studies in the field of OH&S or a related discipline, attained or are in progression toward a CRSP or CSSE designation, and thorough knowledge of OHSA requirements. You also have between three to five years’ experience as a safety specialist within a manufacturing environment. Exposure to construction site safety, solid communication and presentation skills, and experience with ISO and Lean Manufacturing are assets. This is very much a ‘hands-on’ role in a flat organization.
