- Promote
SHE-Q policies and actions

Assist in setting SHE-Q targets and monitor progress
-
Development and implementation of risk assessments
-
Accident investigations and incident reviews
-
WorkSafeBC liaison; responsible for maintaining all WorkSafeBC
documentation
-
Develop and monitor back-to-work programs
-
Safety reviews and inspections
-
Responsible for safety documentation
-
Assist in reporting of accidents and injuries to head office
in Rotterdam using SMIT’s Marine
Accident Reporting System
-
Development of induction program(s) for new employees
-
Employee safety training
-
Administration of vessel documentation (charts & publication
updates, Notice to Mariners, assisting crews to maintain vessel
libraries)
-
International Safety Management (ISM) review
-
Environmental management
-
Participation in vessel safety audits
-
Develop & implement safety policies and procedures
-
Facility Security Officer
Qualifications:
• Occupational Health and Safety diploma or equivalent
• In depth knowledge of OH&S legislation and standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• PC proficient, particularly with Microsoft applications
• Marine related experience an asset
