Human Resources Advisor
Supervisor: HR Manager
Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, incumbent will be responsible
for the coordination and administration of HR and OH&S program
activities and projects to support business unit and company business
objectives.

• Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by; coordinating,
promoting and conducting various OH&S programs and activities
related to the OH&S Management System; conducting OH&S
assessments and periodic audits; implementing health and safety
strategies and action plans; coaching and advising management
of OH&S policies, procedures, practices and legislative requirements.
• Working closely with HR Manager and Regional HR services
in coordination of the recruitment process with all levels of
management to support business needs by; reviewing requirements
with department manager/supervisor, interview and selection; provide
advice on candidate selection to manager/supervisor; induction/orientation.
• Working closely with HR Manager to co-ordinate technical
workforce training and development program for business unit by;
analyzing and assessing training needs; vendor selection; developing
and delivering training presentations; updating training records.
• Maintain Management Knowledge by; providing advice, counsel
and assistance to management in areas of HR, ER, LR and OH&S.
• Maintain staff performance objectives by; coaching, counseling,
assisting management in performance management issues; assisting
in preparing discipline letters; planning, monitoring and appraising
OH&S performance objectives
• Complies with Federal, Provincial and Local Legal requirements
by; studying existing and new legislation enforcing adherence
to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Working closely with Regional HR Services in supporting
WSIB claim management by; assisting Disability Manager, supervisors
and managers in the assessment of accident investigation, claims
adjudication and management of the Suitable Alternative Work Program.
• As required, liaise with external and internal contacts;
Ministry of Labour, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Workplace
Safety Associations, and other business units within Holcim and
St. Lawrence Cement.

• University degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent
combination of post secondary education and acquired work experience.
• Valid Driver’s License
