Why did you decide to pursue a BCRSP Certification?
The BCRSP is the gold standard for validating skills, knowledge and experience within the safety field. CRSP is a globally recognized designation, whereby it illustrates passion and commitment towards Health, Safety & Risk.
How did you find out about the certification?
Many of my leadership mentors throughout my mining career held their CRSP Designations. These mentors were the industry best at what they did, which made me realize, I wanted to reach the same level of accomplishment as my constituent’s.
I am proud to say that I have, and I am grateful for the many leadership mentors ahead of my time who paved the way for me to become successful. You have not been forgotten.
If you could give some advice to someone about why they should pursue certification with the BCRSP, what would you tell them?
Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of enormous strength. No one gets to where they are today without help along the way. Don’t be afraid to ask uncomfortable questions, and then remember to return the favor and pay it forward. Being an inspiration and career ambassador for someone else’s development, is a priceless meaningful sentiment.
Lastly, always do the right things, even when no one is watching, this will speak volumes about your humanistic soft skills as a person.
