FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 3, 2020

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) has entered into an agreement to support the 2020 Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC), taking place May 27-30, 2020 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Skills/Compétences Canada was founded in 1989 as a national, not‐for‐profit organization that works with employers, educators, labour groups and governments to promote skilled trades and technology careers among Canadian youth.

The SCNC is the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country.  By supporting this event, the BCRSP aims to expose the over 7,500 SCNC attendees and participants to the BCRSP certifications and the importance of qualified OHS practitioners supporting safe workplaces and communities.

“Supporting an organization that offers youth an opportunity to work on skills they will be able to take into the workplace is an investment in the future” said BCRSP Chair Monica Szabo, BES, OHST, CRSP, ROH, CMM III.

BCRSP is proud to be supporting the SCNC and supporting Canada’s youth in developing the workplace skills needed for the future. The competition offers youth the opportunity to highlight and celebrate their skills and knowledge in over 40 skilled trades, including the workplace safety competition.
