The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) is pleased to announce two recipients of the 2022 Volunteer of the Year Award. The BCRSP Governing Board bestowed the honour to Bruce Jackson, CRSP and David Koopman, CRSP(NP).  Both David and Bruce are long-time contributors to the BCRSP and the safety profession and have been committed volunteers for many years.

BCRSP Signs Partnership Agreement with the Canadian Association for Black Health and Safety Professionals

Mississauga, ON – August 2 2022 — On Saturday July 30, 2022, the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) signed a partnership agreement with the Canadian Association for Black Health and Safety Professionals (CABHSP).

The BCRSP and the CABHSP will seek opportunities for shared projects and collaboration to remove systemic barriers for safety professionals and promote inclusion & advancement for black health and safety professionals.

Highlights from the Board of Governors

IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility) Task Force 

The IDEA Task Force is in the process of finalizing a Rainbow Land Acknowledgement that will be posted on the BCRSP website. The BCRSP has entered into a partnership agreement with the Canadian Association for Black Health & Safety Professionals (CABHSP). The IDEA task force has started working on mutually beneficial initiatives.

54 OHS Technicians Awarded CRST Certification

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) is pleased to announce 54 individuals were awarded the Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) certification on May 11, 2022. 

The CRST certification was introduced in 2018 to support the evolving needs of industry. The CRST certification process requires individuals to meet qualification standards, including education and experience requirements, pass the CRST Examination, and stay up to date through a continuous professional development process.
